Beyond the Index, curated by Allan McDonaldGallery One, Unitec, 2020Maurer documents the eponymous location during lockdown, offering eerie vistas of nearly deserted midday streets alongside slow panning shots of the interior of an apartment, the camera neatly circumscribing the confines of a locked-down existence. 	Anton Maurer is an artist born and based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
His book Endeavour,&#38;nbsp;published by Bad News Books and exhibited at Te Papa&#38;nbsp;in 2022, 
focused on the impact of capitalism and colonisation on Aotearoa’s landscape.&#38;nbsp;
Maurer’s latest series Care is driven by how legislative inequalities impact access to health
 care for people living with Rare Disorders in Aotearoa. An exhibition of the work was shown at RM Gallery 
in July 2023.
